Project Description
Structura was honored to collaborate closely with Rust | Orling and Whiting-Turner, contributing to the design and construction of this three-story, 90K SF facility developed to replace the former McLean Medical Building. The project supports the area’s revitalization efforts and delivers a modern and thoughtfully designed space tailored to senior residents.
Project scope encompassed the design of a complex structural system that integrates residential, communal, and parking facilities. The building accommodates 100 residential units for assisted living and memory care, including specialized amenities such as outdoor terraces, a bistro, a library, and a theater room. The structure also includes a below-grade parking garage, requiring precise engineering to optimize space while maintaining structural integrity.
The project also features a new “heritage garden,” blending private areas for residents with public spaces accessible to the surrounding community. Structura’s expertise ensured that the structural design seamlessly supported this mix of public and private elements, contributing to the project’s role as a vibrant and welcoming addition to downtown McLean, and exemplifying Structura’s commitment to delivering innovative and impactful engineering solutions.
