Structura is honored to provided structural design services for The Ladrey, a transformative redevelopment project in Old Town North Alexandria. This new mid-rise building will replace the existing 11-story, 170-unit high-rise that currently houses primarily seniors and residents with disabilities. The redevelopment not only preserves all existing units but also significantly expands affordable housing options for families who live and work in Alexandria.

Aligned with the city’s Small Area Plan, the project integrates enhanced green spaces, artist installations, and improved streetscape design. By incorporating an adjacent property, ARHA has optimized the site to support an expanded range of community amenities and improved accessibility. The new development will feature underground parking, clinical offices, a fitness space, and a community room with a kitchen, library, and computer lab. Additional design elements include a rooftop amenity space, a dedicated senior parking and drop-off area, and a private courtyard—all aimed at fostering a vibrant and inclusive living environment.
