Paxton Apartments, a new multi-family community developed by Foulger Pratt, is dedicated to providing 100% affordable housing in Washington, DC’s Ward 7, contributing to the city’s growing need for fair housing. This project includes 5,300 SF of amenity space designed to foster a healthy, active community, as well as dedicated program space for the Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) provider, Community of Hope, to support families in need.

Structura collaborated closely with Hickok Cole to design a robust structural system that supports both the affordable housing units and the dynamic community spaces. Our scope of work involved creating structural solutions for the building’s multi-use design, including residential units, amenity spaces, and the PSH provider areas, ensuring long-term durability and accessibility for all residents. The project plays a key role in expanding the development of the H Street Corridor eastward along Benning Road, offering convenient access to retail, the recently completed streetcar, and Metro via Union Station. Paxton Apartments is a crucial addition to a neighborhood in need of high-quality, affordable housing. Structura’s expertise was integral in delivering a safe, sustainable, and community-focused project that meets the needs of its residents and the surrounding area.
