Belgium-based Dhollandia, the world’s largest truck liftgate producer, selected Charlotte's Gresham Smith Architects to design its 315K SF North American headquarters in Gaston County, NC. The facility includes an 18K SF two-story corporate office with a mezzanine and a production area with room for a future 78K SF expansion. The design balances an efficient manufacturing space with a sleek office environment, featuring clear sight lines from the office to production areas, abundant natural light, a product showroom, and flexible event space for classes and community gatherings.

The project utilized tilt-up construction with a design package that included steel framing and tilt-up panel engineering. Shop drawings detailed all panel layouts, openings, reveals, embeds, and reinforcement, totaling 73 panels with a net area of ~58K SF, 1,434 cubic yards of concrete, 7,132 linear feet of reveals, and 880 embedded items, all provided as part of the construction documents to streamline the build process.
