Project Description
As the structural engineer of record for GHT Limited at the World Bank – Main Complex, Structura played a crucial role in the successful removal and replacement of eight cooling towers and their surrounding maintenance platforms. These towers, positioned outside the existing penthouse and supported by steel roof dunnage, required meticulous planning to ensure the building’s cooling systems remained fully operational throughout the phased construction process.
Structura’s involvement began with comprehensive surveys to assess the structural integrity of the existing steel dunnage and platforms. Leveraging our deep expertise, we evaluated the design of the new cooling towers and maintenance platforms to ensure seamless integration with the existing structure. Our scope of work included designing reinforcements for the existing steel dunnage and creating new steel dunnage systems to support the updated cooling infrastructure.
To ensure the project’s success, we prepared detailed construction documents and provided ongoing construction administration services. Through precise planning, proactive communication, and close coordination with all stakeholders, Structura delivered innovative solutions that upgraded the cooling infrastructure while minimizing disruption to building operations. It also underscores Structura’s ability to manage complex engineering challenges, demonstrating our commitment to delivering resilient, efficient, and expertly engineered solutions.
