Project Description
The World Bank G Building, an eight-story reinforced concrete structure with three below-grade levels—including two parking levels spanning 35K SF—required critical structural repairs in early 2020. Structura was engaged to address spalled concrete on the underside of the first parking level. Initial inspections revealed widespread damage, prompting a comprehensive survey of the entire structure. Structura identified damaged areas and developed targeted repair plans, including detailed repair documents to guide construction. Acting as the Owner’s representative, we oversaw the bidding process and provided construction administration services to ensure high-quality execution.
To inform our approach, Structura coordinated extensive testing, including compressive strength analysis of core samples and chloride testing to assess potential durability concerns. These evaluations guided effective repair strategies, enhancing the structure's longevity and safety. Through precise planning and oversight, Structura ensured the successful rehabilitation of the G Building, preserving its structural integrity and extending its service life.
