Transportation Federal Credit Union engaged CORE Architecture + Design to revitalize their Alexandria, VA headquarters, transforming the three-story freestanding office building with a fresh, modern interior and an upgraded exterior streetscape and main entry experience. With a vision of creating a welcoming, collaborative environment for team members, Structura proudly partnered with the design team to bring this vision to life.

A key feature of the renovation was the installation of a central interconnecting stairway, designed to serve as both a functional and symbolic centerpiece of the space. Anchored by a robust wood plinth, the stairway represents a destination and an interactive hub, fostering connectivity and collaboration among team members. Structura’s role involved ensuring the structural integrity and seamless integration of this striking architectural element into the existing building framework. Through close collaboration with CORE and meticulous attention to detail, Structura helped deliver a space that balances aesthetic appeal with functionality, creating an engaging workplace environment aligned with the client’s goals.
