Project Description
Structura was proud to collaborate with Hickok Cole, Fort Lincoln New Town Corporation, and The Concordia Group on the design and construction of a significant new residential development in Washington, DC’s Fort Lincoln New Town community. This five-story, multi-family residential building adds 236 modern units—comprising 200 market-rate and 36 affordable apartments—across a total area of 371,893 GSF, including 265,652 SF of residential space and 106,241 SF of below-grade parking.
Project scope entailed providing a range of engineering solutions tailored to this complex project, including the design of a robust structural framework to support the five-story structure, accommodating both the residential floors and extensive below-grade parking. The building’s amenities required strategic integration into the design, including a fitness center, yoga room, co-working lounge, conference rooms, resident lounges, and a rooftop lounge. Additional features like a dog-washing station and a 10K SF private landscaped courtyard highlight the focus on resident convenience and community.
The site’s adjacency to a green, forested buffer presented unique challenges and opportunities. Structura worked to ensure the design harmonized with its park-like setting, completing the vision of Fort Lincoln New Town as a vibrant community that integrates townhomes, senior living, shopping, and now state-of-the-art apartment living.
