Project Description
For Phase III of Jacksonville’s St. Johns Town Center, Structura served as the Structural Engineer of Record, contributing to the expansion of the outdoor shopping area and the integration of Nordstrom as a new anchor tenant. The project was designed to create a dynamic and welcoming environment, with three distinct sections leading up to the department store: the Transition Court, the Shopping Court, and the EBar Lounge.
Structura's role encompassed the structural design and engineering for two key retail buildings: a 17,750 SF single-story retail space and a 16,300 SF two-story building for Arhaus Furniture. The design required innovative structural solutions to accommodate the building's unique features, including large architectural shades, an edgeless pool in the Transition Court, and the open, accessible layout of the Shopping Court.
In addition to the retail spaces, Structura ensured that the structural framework supported the spacious, inviting atmosphere of the EBar Lounge, which provides a place for visitors to relax near Nordstrom’s entrance. Through thoughtful design and expert execution, Structura helped create a robust and functional structure that enhances the overall experience at St. Johns Town Center, positioning it as a premier shopping destination.
