Structura was proud to provide engineering solutions for two main tenant and retail improvements at Plaza del Mercado in Aspen Hill, MD. The first phase of the project involved extensive renovations and upgrades to the existing strip retail stores, including improvements to the office area, canopy, and corner tower to enhance functionality and aesthetics. The second phase included the design and construction of a new 18,500 SF ALDI grocery store. Situated on a newly cleared site, the store is adjacent to existing one-story retail and fitness buildings to the west and east.

Structura's scope encompassed the structural design of the new grocery store, ensuring the integration of the building with the surrounding structures and meeting local building codes. Through careful planning and collaboration with Rounds Vanduzer Architects, Structura helped deliver a functional, modern addition to the existing shopping center.
