Project Description

The scope of work at National Geographic’s headquarters included a comprehensive range of tenant improvements. It began with a detailed survey of existing conditions, followed by the development of an efficient structural design for new dunnage and the expansion of the mechanical equipment yard. Collaborating closely with mechanical and architectural partners, the team prepared thorough construction documents, evaluated subcontractor bids, and provided ongoing construction administration, including responding to RFIs and reviewing submittals throughout the construction phase.

Key project highlights included concrete reinforcement for new mechanical duct openings, an expanded rooftop mechanical yard to accommodate upgraded equipment, and framing for lightweight stone panels. Additional work involved designing structural steel framing for interior stadium seating, modifying an existing masonry load-bearing wall, and altering slabs to meet updated mechanical and architectural requirements.
