Project Description
Structura provided structural engineering services for the extensive renovation of the B, C, and D buildings at Myers Park Presbyterian Church (MPPC) as part of their Campus Investments—Phase 2 initiative. These buildings, which support the Weekday and Sunday School programs, are undergoing significant updates funded by the Cultivate campaign. The project scope includes the design of a new connector between the C and D buildings to improve multi-floor access and safety, as well as structural modifications to support expanded full-day programming.
Additional work involved reinforcing the buildings to accommodate classroom restrooms, upgraded security systems, a fire sprinkler system, and a comprehensive overhaul of the HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. Structura’s role also encompassed ensuring the structural integrity of newly designed classrooms and specialty spaces, including a children’s library and STEAM room. This renovation addresses over 60 years of deferred updates, ensuring a safe, functional, and modern learning environment for the church community.
