Structura partnered with Arris Design to provide structural engineering services for the renovation of BGE’s Spring Gardens facility, which involved transforming the space into flexible, collaborative training and conferencing areas. The project scope began with renovations to an existing two-story building, featuring an open web bar joist roof and a structural steel frame. Modifications included the removal and replacement of lobby skylights, the demolition and reconstruction of the main staircase landing, and the installation of two suspended operable partitions to divide first-floor conference rooms as needed.

Additional work included the design of two outdoor structures: a salt bath platform and vaporizer shelter. Structura’s team handled the analysis, design, and preparation of structural drawings for permits, bids, and construction, coordinating with the architect and other consultants, and overseeing project administration. They also provided site visits, reviewed shop drawings, responded to RFIs, and reviewed structural testing and inspection reports.
