Project Description
As the Structural Engineer of Record, Structura was thrilled to contribute to the newly opened Bark Social in the Merriweather District, a distinctive social hub for dog lovers. The project features a thoughtfully designed main building and canopy structures that provide an interactive and welcoming environment for both pets and their owners. The main building, which houses a café, bar, and retail area, serves as the focal point where visitors can relax while their pets enjoy the adjacent dog park. Structura’s structural design prioritized durability and resilience, ensuring the open layout accommodates high visitor traffic while maintaining a safe, inviting atmosphere.
In addition to the main building, the canopy structures were strategically designed to provide shaded outdoor spaces, engineered for year-round use and to withstand the elements. Collaborating closely with the design and construction teams, Structura delivered innovative structural solutions that supported the creation of a dynamic community space. Bark Social’s Merriweather District location is now poised to become a vibrant gathering spot, blending functional design with a focus on community engagement, and offering a unique experience for both pets and people alike.
