Bio
Since joining Structura in 1999, Mark Erdman has led designs on numerous projects constructed in structural steel, reinforced concrete, post-tensioned concrete, masonry, light gage steel, and wood. Notable projects include the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation headquarters in Lansdowne, MD, Remington Row and Sagamore Spirit, both in Baltimore, MD, and 800 N Glebe Road in Arlington, VA. Mark currently manages Structura’s Baltimore office, while overseeing the firm’s recruiting efforts and managing financial performance. He is also active in new business development for the DC and Baltimore markets. In 2014, he was one of just 15 structural engineers in the country to be named a Rising Star by Civil + Structural Engineering magazine. Mark is a member of numerous industry groups including ULI Baltimore NEXT Steering Committee, ULI Revitalization and Reuse Committee, American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) - MD, Council of American Structural Engineers (CASE), American Institute of Architects (AIA) - Baltimore and Richmond, Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA), and Society of American Military Engineers (SAME). He has also served as a guest lecturer at Johns Hopkins University's Whiting School of Engineering.
Fun Fact
Mark’s family supports St Vincent de Paul of Baltimore’s Beans and Bread program by making 50 lunches once a month. His favorite charities include the Combat Soldier’s Recovery Fund, the Against Malaria Foundation, and the Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance. Mark has played ice hockey since he was 9 years old and currently plays center in a men’s league at Mt. Pleasant Ice Arena. Mark is also undisputedly the world’s biggest Philadelphia Flyers fan. Mark participated in study abroad program at University of Leeds in England, favorite soccer team is the Fulham Football Club. Mark is on the Stoneleigh Community Association and is the Chair of the neighborhood’s Citizens on Patrol committee.
