Project Overview

As the Structural Engineer of Record, Structura is proud to support the new 43,000-square-foot Whole Foods Market in the Walter Reed Town Center. Designed by Rounds VanDuzer Architects, this vibrant grocery space includes a deli, hot bar, coffee bar, and lounge, providing a key gathering place for the community.

Structural Integration & Community Impact

This location serves as an anchor for the surrounding neighborhood, featuring thousands of products from nearly 100 local vendors and supporting the local economy. Our structural expertise was integral to engineering the structural system to accommodate central escalators and elevators, seamlessly connecting the store to the below-grade parking garage for convenient customer access and flow. Our expertise was integral in bringing this vision to life, with the vertical connections requiring thoughtful design to ensure safety and accessibility while supporting high-traffic use from the surrounding businesses and multi-family residential community sitting atop it.
