Perkins Homes is a 12-block redevelopment project in downtown Baltimore that rethinks the strategy for providing residents with an affordable, high-quality living environment, replacing the original Perkins Homes built in the 1940s as public housing for shipyard workers and their families. Comprised of several low-rise affordable apartment buildings, townhomes, market-rate apartments, small-scale retail, a large public park, and a public school with playing fields, the re-envisioned Perkins Homes features 1,346 affordable and mixed-income units, plus 500 market-rate units, being constructed in five phases.

Phases 1 and 2 have opened and the rest have been fully designed and approved for development. Structura is thrilled to have collaborated with Hord Coplan Macht on bringing new life back to this piece of Baltimore’s vibrant history.
