Project Description
Structura served as the structural engineer of record for Jiffy Lube Live, a premier live-entertainment amphitheater in Bristow, VA, designed in collaboration with Hickok Cole.
The amphitheater’s most prominent feature is its expansive roof, which spans over 300 feet and is supported by exposed structural steel trusses, providing coverage for 10,000 fixed seats. Structura's scope of work involved designing and detailing the structural systems that supported these large trusses, ensuring their stability while meeting the project’s aesthetic and functional goals. Additionally, the venue offers lawn seating, increasing its total capacity to 25K patrons, making it the largest music venue in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
Project scope included the careful integration of the structural design with the architectural vision, optimizing the steel framing to ensure both efficiency and performance. By coordinating closely with the design and construction teams, Structura played a key role in creating a venue capable of hosting a diverse array of musical acts each summer, reinforcing Jiffy Lube Live’s reputation as a cultural and entertainment landmark in the region.
