Project Description

Structura was proud to assist in the installation of "Flash Point," a dynamic sculpture commissioned by PEPCO for their Waterfront Substation at First & R Street SW in Washington, DC. As part of the Buzzard Point redevelopment, the sculpture, designed by David and Eli Hess, honors Nikola Tesla’s high-voltage experiments with LED light fixtures that flash at night, symbolizing the neighborhood’s growth.

Project scope included providing essential structural consultation, ensuring the sculpture was safely and securely attached to the building. Our team worked closely with Hess Industries to analyze and support the installation, contributing to this powerful beacon for the evolving waterfront district.
