Structura was proud to collaborate with Hess Industries on the design and installation of a dynamic two-part interactive sculpture at the entrance of Wilmer Park. Created by sculptor David Hess, the piece evokes nautical imagery, with one part representing a wave and the other a sail, designed to simulate a rolling sea while framing scenic views of the Chester River.

As the structural engineer of record, Structura ensured the sculptures were seamlessly integrated into the landscape. Our team provided the necessary structural framing to support the sculptures, concealing them beneath a built-up layer of dirt and grass. This allowed the sculptures to be safely explored by both children and adults, offering a unique and engaging experience while blending with the natural surroundings.
