Structura is honored to collaborate with Eric Colbert & Associates on the adaptive reuse of the 1970s-era, 114,000 SF office building at 1625 Massachusetts Avenue NW, owned by National Real Estate Development. Initially slated for demolition, the building will be converted into a modern 157-unit residential structure following plans submitted to DC's Historic Preservation Office (HPO) in 2023.

Project scope includes providing design and construction phase services for the complete conversion, which spans 8 above-grade levels, a mechanical penthouse, and three levels of underground parking. A key aspect of the project is preserving the building’s iconic 90-foot stone exterior façade while updating the interior to meet contemporary residential standards.
