Peninsula 88 is located in the newly developed Buzzard Point area of DC’s Capitol Riverfront neighborhood at the corner of V Street and First Street SW, on the waterfront and within walking distance of Nationals Park, Audi Field, and all the new dining, shopping, and entertainment venues nearby. It comprises eight stories plus a penthouse and two levels of below-grade parking with 110 residential units and mixed-use amenity spaces spanning 165K+ SF atop a post-tensioned concrete tower. Given its proximity to the waterfront and being situated in a known flood zone, the below-grade levels were built as a watertight “bathtub” with a mat foundation and specially designed tie-down foundation anchors to resist upward buoyancy forces from potential flood loads.
