As the Structural Engineer of Record, Structura was excited to support the newly opened Bark Social location in the Merriweather District, a unique social hub designed for dog lovers. The project’s main building and canopy structures create a welcoming, interactive environment for pets and their owners alike, combining functional space with thoughtful design.

Structural Features & Design Approach

The main building serves as the centerpiece, housing a café, bar, and retail area where guests can relax while their pets enjoy the adjacent dog park. Structura’s structural design ensured the building’s durability and resilience, with an open layout that accommodates high visitor traffic. Adjacent to the main building, the canopy structures offer ample shaded outdoor space, engineered to withstand the elements and enhance year-round usability.

Working alongside the design and construction teams, Structura provided structural solutions that bring Bark Social’s vision to life, creating a safe, engaging environment for pets and people. This location is set to be a vibrant gathering spot for the Merriweather District community, combining innovative structural design with a focus on community engagement.
