Structura was pleased to provide design development and construction administration support for tenant renovations to an existing two-story commercial office building known as ARE-5 Research Court to accommodate state-of-the-art conferencing facilities and bio-tech/lab research and development space. Project scope included removal of front and rear facade “pods” that required design/installation of new site retaining walls, introduction of a new main entrance “core” (including two stairways and an elevator), adding two new rear egress stairways, new front and rear curtain walls to create a cohesive building skin, EIFS on each side of existing brick, new mechanical system shafts through floor and roof framing, plus a new rooftop “dog house” and dunnage to store mechanical equipment.
