The scope of work at the World Bank – Main Complex involved the removal and replacement of eight (8) existing cooling towers and maintenance platforms that surround the cooling towers. The existing cooling towers and maintenance platforms were outside of the existing penthouse and were supported by existing steel roof dunnage. The removal and replacement of the cooling towers was split into multiple phases to allow cooling for the building to be completely operational at all times.
Our work included multiple surveys of the existing conditions, the review of the proposed cooling towers, the design of reinforcement on the existing steel dunnage, new steel dunnage design for the new cooling towers and maintenance platforms, preparing construction documents and performing construction administration.
