When the World Bank's I Building needed mechanical equipment upgrades involving the removal and replacement of 3 existing chillers (located inside the existing mechanical penthouse and sit on the main roof slab) and 3 existing cooling towers (located outside of the existing penthouse supported by existing steel roof dunnage), Structura was engaged to provide their expertise. Project scope included not only surveying existing conditions (including the existing steel dunnage under the cooling towers), but also reviewing the proposed new equipment and replacement design (steel dunnage for new cooling towers and platform framing, plus design of concrete repairs), preparing construction documents, and performing construction administration.
