Located in the historic Eckington neighborhood of Northeast DC, ONE501 is a new seven-story, multi-family and mixed-use residential building designed by Torti Gallas and Partners and developed by Foulger-Pratt. Completed in 2021, the $66M, 1.8-acre project involved the construction of 327 contemporary residential apartments with state-of-the-art amenities, including 7,500 SF of street-level retail space and 140 parking spaces. The building also includes 9 two-story artists’ lofts, five offered to artists earning less than 60% of the area’s median income.
A distinct aspect of this project is that the site is wrapped on two sides by the NoMa Parks Foundation’s Alethia Tanner Park, and a 22,000 SF parcel of land was donated to the foundation by the developer to expand the NoMa Green to the east and connect the new apartment building with the expanded Alethia Tanner Park. ONE501 is LEED Gold certified by the US Green Building Council (USGBC) and has been awarded 2022 Best Residential/Hospitality and Award of Merit Excellence in Safety by ENR MidAtlantic, as well as named one of the Q3 2021 Top 5 LEED Gold Projects in Washington, DC by Multi-Housing News (MHN).
