Oakcrest School, a private girls' institution for grades 6-12, selected DCS Design to develop a new, expanded campus after outgrowing its original McLean, VA location. Phase 1 structural engineering scope included supporting site development for athletic fields, tennis courts, and substantial site improvements, boasting facilities such as a chapel, multi-purpose hall and dining area, library, science labs, outdoor classrooms, an art studio, music and computer labs, common areas, and a theater—all designed with sustainability in mind to achieve LEED Silver certification across 100K SF.
Phase 2 included a 26K SF, two-story Athletic Center addition. Scope of work involved providing structural support for a new gymnasium, training facilities, and educational rooms to ensure the expansion integrated seamlessly with the existing campus. Structura’s expertise enabled the creation of safe, durable spaces that enhance both athletic and academic experiences, adding long-term value to Oakcrest School’s campus.
