Continuing its work on the 12-year, six building modernization program for NASA’s Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA known as New Town, Structura is providing structural engineering services for the GSA Design Excellence Integrated Engineering Services Building (IESB). The project is a new 120,000 SF, two-story, mixed-use building that will include engineering collaboration spaces; offices; a multi-media production suite; a full-service cafeteria including food preparation, dining and serving areas; an Education and Training Center; and a theater, conference and meeting facilities.

The project is registered with the USGBC and is targeted for LEED Gold certification. Design features of the project include an extensive green roof, geothermal heating and cooling, light shelves and other sun control devices, and building occupant’s access to daylight.
