UNC Health Blue Ridge Valdese Cancer Center is a specialized healthcare facility that brings a higher level of medical expertise to residents of Burke County and the surrounding communities. Previously spanning multiple buildings, this addition and remodel combined oncology services under one roof to create a better patient and staff experience.The cancer center is housed in a new 35K SF addition that features state-of-the-art infusion therapy and treatment areas with private and open space, radiation and chemotherapy exam rooms, consultation areas, and other treatment spaces. Newly installed equipment also included two (2) Linear Accelerators, a CT Simulator, and a Superficial X-ray machine. The Valdese Cancer Center was first accredited by the Commission on Cancer in 1972 and is one of the longest-continuously accredited programs in the state.
